Some of you may have noticed that it’s been a couple of weeks since my last post. My daughter Elise, who is battling cancer, has been doing poorly, and has been even worse today. I would deeply appreciate your prayers.
This journey with Elise and her cancer has been a marathon—a series of marathons, really. For most of the time, I’ve been OK taking it a step at time. Why worry about tomorrow before it comes? But tonight I have “breakthrough worry.”
Back in December, Elise’s first round of chemo resulted in an infection, and then sepsis, which, quite literally, almost killed her. Every time she has had those same chemo drugs again, it is clearly very hard on her body. She had them last week, after less recovery time than normal from her previous treatment. I had to take her back to the hospital the day after she came home, because she had a fever, and was doing poorly. She’s struggled her way through this week, but she has a fever again, and it has been climbing all day.
I am fully expecting to take her to ER sometime in the middle of the night to come. Since last Friday I’ve had a bag packed for this possibility. It’s hard to anticipate sitting in a utilitarian ER room on an uncomfortable chair for hours in the middle of the night.
But far, far worse, is watching my child suffer and being unable to stop it. It’s far worse knowing that her body is trying to recover from the drugs that almost killed her less than a year ago. It’s worse wondering if this the beginning of something truly awful.
Would you please pray with us tonight? Please ask the Father to end the infection, protect Elise’s body, and bring healing. Please ask him to show us his presence strongly tonight. Ask for peace for Elise, Kari and me, and the rest of the family.

I just came accross your website today. I am praying for your daughter’s complete healing. Not sure of your beliefs, but God still heals today. Andrew Wommack is a bible study teacher and has incredible healing testimonies on his website. There are testimonies of people who needed healing for themselves or a loved one; listened to the testimonies which increased their belief of Jesus’s finished work on the cross; by His stripes we are healed.
Just wanted to mention Andrew Wommack in case you want to investigate his ministry and the many healing testimonies. I am not affiliated with him in anyway; I’m just a person seeking God and the work He has already done for us.
My sincerest prayers are for Elsie’s healing and for you and your wife’s comfort.

No longer expect the worst, put all of your hope in the Living Hope, Jesus who is alive forever, doesn’t change, still heals, delivers, and frees us from the oppression of the devil. It seems as though oppressing pastor’s children is the M.O. of the devil to try and discourage pastors and trying to discourage whole congregations; trying to lead all astray from the Truth of the Works of Redemption accomplished in Christ and Christ in us who are born again believers of Jesus, blood bought, given grace upon grace and the riches of Christ’s glory, power, kingdom righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit with and in us; the immeasurable greatness of Power in us (Ephesians 1:19-23) in this age and the ages to come (1:21) in us who believe Jesus is the same today as He was when He was healing, delivering, and freeing from oppression while on earth (Acts 10:38; Luke 10:19; Ephesians 1:19; Ephesians 3:16-20).
